* 15 inspectors from Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand joined regional training workshop on phytosanitary inspection in bangkok and the field trip to plant quarantine checkpoints to exchange experience and identify challenges through peer-to-peer learning on inspection procedure
* The regional training “facilitating trade for agricultural goods in ASEAN(FTAG) project aims to develop for phytosanitary inspectors and to ensure valid and credible phytosanitary certification and clearance for export and import of consignments between countries.
* The three countries inspectors are able to facilitate faster border to identify on agricultural goods.
Safe journey of fruits and vegetables from one country to another isn’t easy. That’s why inspectors from Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam are intensively trained to be able to export/import only agricultural goods free of quarantine pest and disease.
The training workshop facilitated by the facilitating trade for agricultural goods in ASEAN (FTAG) project is developed for phytosanitary inspectors who are already working in this area. Without harmonized regulations among ASEAN countries on this matter, the pest outbreaks can one day be out of control.
